I got this one after 7 trails camp on Orcas Island. This was where I hit a 50 mile PR, but made so many Yeti friends. I was in a dark place in life getting ready for an overseas move and I got to spend this race doing 45 miles with Michelle and meet all the amazing people. I rode a ferry for the first time. This was the first thing I did for myself after ending a 5 year relationship and the Yeti community was there to pick me up and hasn’t left me since. For WA Yeti this year a bunch of us got back together and also had Camp Yatzee where we got to hang out before and after the race. I got this to remind me there is an amazing community of people, to continue to put myself out there, and boy did those 5 mile loops add up.
