I found trail running during Covid after many years of road running. I very quickly found out about ultra running, and more importantly I found the Yeti family! The positivity and inclusion is unmatched. I’m extremely introverted but have never felt out of place on a trail and even if I don’t speak to many people I feel right at home! I was so excited to sign up for my first ultra, the Dam Yeti. I didn’t get to attempt my first signup thanks to a husband that didn’t support running. He said it took too much time away from him and I dropped out of the race. However, I chose not to be controlled and after a divorce that same year I came back the next year and completed 2023! I swore if I made myself a priority and completed that race, I’d get the tattoo and I did! I ran it again this year and look forward to every race I get to attend in the future!
