Yeti Tattoo Tales – Family

I have followed Yeti Trail Runners since 2017. I knew I wanted Dam Yeti to be my first Yeti event because even though I had never been there, I always felt called to the Virginia Creeper Trail. I signed up for the Dam Yeti 50k in 2019.

Before attending, I posted a picture of me and my husband Cody, just introducing us because we were attending this race knowing absolutely no one there. Many people commented and said they’d say hi when they saw us.

Funny thing is, I never felt alone. Heather and Shane introduced themselves to us immediately and the entire event felt like family. Being in a place where I was able to feel so comfortable immediately was so heartening.

I’ve always wanted a Yeti tattoo to represent my Yeti family but after isolation and covid times kept everyone apart, Jason made himself available and created fun events to still provide that sense of community and family. This group kept me grounded in a very challenging time of my life.

I knew this would be the year of my tattoo. My fifth Dam Yeti (official) finish. Two 50ks, two 55ks, and one 25k. I couldn’t be happier with this tattoo and every time I look at it I think of my Yeti family.
