This tattoo means true strength to me. Let me start with a short story…I lost my daughter to cancer when she was 17 months old. This was the hardest thing I ever had to endure, until I did the Washington Yeti in 2022. This was my 1st 100 miler and to this day my only. I was so sick throughout and never thought I’d make it. When the sun began to rise I had a new strength. I could feel my daughter, Journey shining down on us. At this point I knew there was no choice but to finish. That is what we did, finishing at 39:47, with 13 minutes to spare. When crossing the finishing line I knew I needed a something to remind me I have the strength within to conquer anything I put my heart into.
